November Update

We hope you had great Thanksgiving celebration in spite of whatever restrictions you encountered. God has been good and we are thankful for everything he has done for us during this season of Covid-19 pandemic. Guatemala is still battling the virus and each department is given a rating based on the number of cases. Currently our department is RED which is the worst and has the most restrictions. Doing any kind of ministry at the base is very difficult at this time and we are praying for changes in the spread of the virus to enable us to do more of the ministries we want to do.

We are continuing to give food to our community. We have 2 more distributions scheduled for this year. The government is giving out some food but it is not sufficient for many families. We have been blessed with donations that have enabled us to give out food to 50 families in need.

We have been working diligently on some maintenance of the base, painting the metal bars that protect our windows with anti-corrosive paint. It is a tedious process of removing the rust and then applying the paint. We also have contracted with a business to paint the exterior of the base. At the present time it is about 1/3 done and it looks really nice. The gray walls are now alive with color! We also had a business apply waterproof sealant on our terrazas. It is a preventative measure to ensure that we do not have water leaking through the flat roof areas.

The photos below show the work done on the metal bars and before and after photos of painting areas of the base.

We are looking forward to hosting a YWAM team from France “Bringing the Kingdom”. They will arrive on December 11 and be with us until the end of January. They will be doing a variety of ministries while they are here but it all depends on what restrictions are placed upon us with the Covid pandemic still a factor in Guatemala. Please keep the team in prayer for their protection and for many opportunities for them to share the gospel and use the gifts and talents they bring with them.

We have been able to start doing evangelism in Central Park in Antigua. It is a popular place for families on the weekends and is a great opportunity to distribute literature, share the gospel and pray for people.

We are always praying for more staff for our work. If you are a ywamer or are interested in joining YWAM we would love to talk to you!
