Summer Spanish Language School & Outreach

Guatemala is a great place to learn Spanish whether you are at the beginner or intermediate level. YWAM Antigua will be conducting a special 4 week program that will include Spanish language learning, discipleship training and outreach activities.

The first three weeks focus on learning Spanish from an experienced teacher as well as receiving discipleship training classes on: Intimacy with God; Intercession; Relationships; Evangelism; Spiritual warfare; World Missions. We will also be developing ministry activities such as dramas, children and youth programs that will be presented to different audiences. Participants live at the YWAM base during this time.

The final week we will be conducting ministry prepared during the first 3 weeks of class with either a church or YWAM base.

Each day Monday through Friday we will have 4 hours of Spanish classes taught by an experienced teacher.
We will emphasize active communication in the target language and introduce students to basic skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking Spanish.

By the end of the 3 weeks, students will be familiar with communicating in the following ways:
Make and respond to simple greetings
Give address, phone number and personal data
Express likes and dislikes
Describe themselves and others
Ask and answer different types of questions
Describe a typical day in the present and past tenses
Extend and reject invitations
Make appointments and reservations
Give and obtain permission
Express needs, hopes, desires and doubt
Give simple commands
Discuss future issues and events

Vocabulary topics will include:
Greetings
Family
Time & numbers
Physical and Personality traits
Food/restaurants
Transportation
Sports
Personal testimony
Sharing the Gospel

The first 2 weekends will be open for the participants to visit tourist sites in the area. 
The third weekend we will be traveling to our outreach destination to begin our ministry time.

SSSO Payments and Fees

I) All students pay a non-refundable application fee of $ 35.

II) Cost: $800 which includes food, housing, and teaching
(this does not include transportation to Guatemala and personal expenses)

III) An application can be downloaded and emailed to us upon completion.

IV) Minimum Age: 18
(Students under the age of 18 must have an adult with them who will be responsible for them.)
