January 2021 Update

We pray you had a wonderful Christmas celebration in spite of the Covid 19 restrictions. We enjoyed the celebrations of Christmas and New Year with a DTS team from France that is conducting their outreach in Guatemala.

YWAM DTS team from France

They helped us with our ministries in the community and helped build a multipurpose room for a ministry that focuses on helping people overcome addictions. The team members are from England, Germany, Sweden, Norway and France. They will be staying at YWAM Antigua until the end of January and will then move on to their final destination of San Miguel Chicaj to work with the YWAM base.

fOOD DISTRIBUTION

Food distribution is one of the ministries we have been able to do during the pandemic.  The people in our community really appreciate the food they receive.  Please continue to pray that the people unemployed will be able to return to work.

We have been able to continue working with a small group of youth.  Several of them are now learning to play the guitar!  The schools are still not in session so the young people have plenty of free time that we want to help them make it productive and fun.

One of our ministries we enjoy is the Homes of Hope.  Currently we are building a home for a single mom and her son.  If you would like to bring a team to build a home or help fund the construction of a home please contact us!  A home has so many advantages for the family and will be a blessing for years to come.

YWAM GATHERING

We recently hosted the YWAM Guatemala City base for a time of worship, prayer, fellowship, food and fun. It was a great time of being with our fellow ywamers. There was also a group from the World Race that came with them to be a part of our day.

The painting project of the exterior walls of the base and some of the interior walls is completed and has given the base a fresh look. The gray wall are now a bright yellow and have made a great improvement to the appearance of the base. There is still some maintenance work to be completed but that is part of the normal maintenance. We enjoy having our own building and want to do our best to keep it looking good and being of service to others.

We has a special guest, Mike, stay with us for a couple of weeks.  He was a missionary in China for 27 years! Mike came to spend time in Guatemala and was a blessing to have him join us when we distributed bibles in a local community. Mike was forced to leave YWAM by the Chinese authorities as they are trying to rid foreigners that are missionaries working in their country.

We are praying for a breakthrough with the virus to enable teams to join us. If you have a group that would like to come in 2021 please contact us! We would love to host your group.
