Community relief

On May 19th YWAM Antigua conducted its 4th distribution to families in our community.  Many families are experiencing very difficult times because of the work restrictions placed on everyone because of the coronavirus.  We prepared 125 bags of food with the help of the moms who participate in our ministry to them.

We purchased food in bulk which included 800 pounds of corn and beans, 400 pounds of rice and chickpeas and several other items.  The ladies helped pack the individual bags with the items purchased.  They volunteer every time we need help and we really appreciate it!

We provide information to the families regarding procedures to keep healthy during the crisis but also we give them recipes they can use with the food we provide.  The moms pictured here are making hummus to give to each family.  It is a very healthy food made from Chickpeas that we purchased in bulk.

After packing all the bags of food the recipients form a line that complies with the unsocial distancing regulations of the government. We are blessed to be able to provide for these families.  We are planning to do two more distributions of food to the families depending on the donations we receive.  We are grateful for the donations for this distribution and thank each of the donors that made it possible.

If you would like to help us with a financial contribution toward the purchase of food for the families in our community, you can give an online contribution through YWAM El Paso – Juarez.
