August Update

Our base has continued to provide food for families in our community.  Every 2 weeks we have been able to provide a bag of food with items that are used daily by the families.  We are grateful for the donations that have been sent to help us purchase the food and as long as the donations keep coming we will continue to assist families.  The Covid-19 is still not under control in most of Guatemala in spite of the measures the government is taking to try to control the spread. As of today there have been 2506 deaths caused by the virus and on average 1000 new cases are being reported of people infected by Covid 19.  The borders remain closed to tourists and no official date has been established when they will be open.  Please keep Guatemala in your prayers during this pandemic.  Many families are in need of food and work as this virus drags on.

Our staff meets daily during the week for worship, study and prayer.  We are also participating in meeting with the bases of Central America and Regional meeting with bases in Mexico, Central and South America.  These meeting have been a great encouragement to us as we are very limited at this time in providing ministry in the community.  We continue to pray for the conditions to improve to enable us to resume some of our ministries.  During the month of September all of the YWAM bases in the world will be participating in focused times of prayer for God’s intervention to change the devastating consequences of the virus.  It will also be a time of seeking God for repentance and healing of the land 2 Chronicles 7:14
