We are currently not able to do the normal ministries we conduct at the base and in the community. Churches are now able to meet but have specific protocol that they are required to follow. We continue to pray for conditions to improve and we can restart our ministries.
During the month of October we hosted 2 students that were on the field experience phase of a YWAM Course: Bible School for the Nations. We were able to work through a local church to host the 5 day event. In the morning we had a small group of adolescents and in the evening a group of 10 adults. Each session was limited to one hour. Topics they taught included: The character and nature of God; Truth; The design and purpose of man and Redemption. The participants enjoyed each session and it was a great experience for the two students teaching the class.
We are currently doing a lot of manual labor at the base after 6 months of inactivity. It is wonderful to have our own facility but along with it comes a lot of maintenance. We have metal bars protecting every window and each one of them needs to be maintained with special anticorrosive paint. We are also planning to have the base painted and a protective water proof coating applied to the flat cement roofs.
We are planning to do one or two more food distribution to people in our community. The government was providing some food for families but that has diminished and the needs of people continues. If you would like to donate toward this project please click on the donate page of our website.
A YWAM team from France is making plans to come to the base in December. We hosted the team last year and they were a great help during our dental/medical clinics This year the clinics have been cancelled due to the uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic.
We hope that teams will be able to come in 2021 to help us in our ministries. We are planning to build a couple of homes as well as conduct our normal ministries. Please consider joining us next year! We would love to have several teams come.
